Ayuda URLS amistosas y .htacess

He activado la opción de urls amistosas, sin embargo el foro no me carga. He estado ojeando por ahí (inclusive este foro) pero nose que hay que colocar exactamente en el .htacess os adjunto el mio a continuación:

Me temo que no lms, lo he dejado como me has pedido y nada.

Al parecer si lo estas corriendo con nginx hay que meterle esto:

Sin embargo, lo hago tiro a hacer un service nginx restart y me sale failed, como que el servicio no puede arrancar.

¿Es necesario tocar realmente el nginx?

No lo tengo en /forums, sino en var/www/whihax.com

PD: Del nginx.conf voy a dejar su configuración original o el servicio no reinicia con las modificaciones de xenforo.

El problema es que da igual como lo coloque, cuando guardo cambios y pongo:

service nginx restart, dice failed no resetea.. adjunto imagen:

La sintaxis es correcta la única duda que me queda es:

si debo sustituirle el path por /var/www/whihax.com

Lo que has puesto es para cuando tienes xenforo en una carpeta llamada xenforo. Si lo tienes directamente en la raíz, es más apropiado esto (remarcado en negrita):
